Attending the CougsFirst! Show connected me directly

to the hiring manager.

 

Newly graduated, I marked the date of the show immediately to capitalize on networking opportunities with Cougar owned and managed businesses in hopes of securing job opportunities.

 

I was reconnected with friends and met successful Cougs further on in their careers that could be great role models for recent graduates like me.

 

Walking around, sipping my favorite Double Back wine, I connected with an old friend who was now working at the Heathman Hotel as Human Resources Director. I was immediately introduced to fellow Coug and Heathman Hotel GM, Troy Longwith. 

 

I had been seeking a position in hospitality and after a few moments of talking, I learned they were in need of hiring an assistant restaurant manager. We setup an interview for the next day and I was hired shortly after to manage their restaurant Trellis, named one of America's "Top 10 Farm to Table Restaurants."
